The foundation stone of Shichidogaran
Two of the three stones here are the foundation stones that were originally used in the Shichidogaran temple in Terao, Chigasaki City.
The foundation stones were used to support the pillars of heavy buildings such as a hall with a tiled roof.
One of the stones here has a circular pillar mark.
Shichidogaran is a temple that existed from the end of the Asuka period to the early Heian period (From the end of the 7th century to the latter half of the 10 century).
Recent excavations have revealed the temple was one of the earliest temples in Kanagawa Prefecture.
